kidsinsnowWinter Fun for Kids

Winters in Alaska are unmatched. With ample snow and Alaska’s largest alpine resort, Alyeska is truly a winter wonderland.

Here's just a sampling of things to do with kids during the snowy season:

  • Santa at Alyeska Resort – Starting mid-December, Alyeska becomes a holiday extravaganza. Special events include photos with Santa, skiing with Santa as well as a torchlight parade and fireworks show.
  • Night-Skiing – Skiing and riding under the lights is a thrill for all ages. Providing a safe and less crowded experience, night-skiing is a serene way to explore the mountain. Night-skiing operates mid-December to late March from 5 to 9 pm.
  • Alyeska Superpipeline Super Pipe and Terrain Parks – Alyeska is proud to have Alaska’s first and only super pipe. The super pipe steps up Alyeska’s freeride terrain which also includes two terrain parks of varying levels of difficulty. For kids looking to master the park and pipe, the Mountain Learning Center offers a variety of camps.
  • Alyeska Summer Freeski & Snowboard Camps – With Alyeska’s deep snowpack, the ski season often extends into the summer. For Summer 2011, Alyeska will be offering two weeks of Summer Camps for snowboarders and freeskiers.
  • Snowmobile Tours – See more of the mountains and glaciers in the area on a guided snowmobile tour. The Slow and Easy Snowmobile Tour is great for family groups with kids. Your guided tour will take you through trails, open fields, beautiful rivers, frozen waterfalls and possible wildlife sightings. Perfect for all ages, no experience required. Alyeska’s concierge staff can make reservations for you.
