snowmobile_gct_web.jpgA snowmobile tour is a fun and invigorating way to experience the Alaskan wilderness. Dart through a breathtaking winter wonderland of snow-filled meadows, majestic mountain peaks, and endless scenic views. Alyeska Resort, in Girdwood, Alaska, partners with Glacier City Snowmobile tours and Alaska Backcountry Access to offer a variety of exhilarating snowmobiling tours, designed for all skill levels and ages.

All tours listed below can be booked with Alyeska's Concierge Desk: 907-754-2108. The Concierge Desk is located next to the Front Desk at The Hotel Alyeska.

Early Season Gold  Mine Tour - 3 hours

This "Early Season" snowmobile tour takes place at an active gold mine operation. The trail runs along the base of spectacular 5,000 foot glaciated peaks and follows beautiful creeks for incredible photo opportunities. This guided tour allows you to navigate your own snowmobile through miles of trails before stopping at a cozy Alaskan campfire. Relax around the fire with a cup of hot Russian tea while guides cook you Alaskan reindeer hotdogs with all the fixins.

Real Deal Tour - 5 hours

Take control of a personal snowmobile, as you venture into the Chugach Mountains to view the spectacular natural beauty of the Alaskan wilderness. Discover a sparkling, icy paradise as you glide across stoic glaciers, and explore timeless ice caves.  The Real Deal snowmobile tour takes you through the only glacial-fed valleys in North America that are accessible via guided snowmobile tour. All tours are weather permitting.

Offered by Glacier City Snowmobile Tours

Turnagain Pass Snowmobile Tour - 5 hours

Snowmobile in the high country of Turnagain Pass to seek the legendary snow the Chugach National Forest is famous for. Meet your guide for instruction at the trailhead in Turnagain Pass or at Bertha Creek on the Kenai Peninsula for riding in mountain valleys. Snowmobile travel typically takes you on historic wagon trails, to a roadhouse, around a campground loop and to a salmon habitat restoration project in Johnson Pass. If conditions permit, we clib to elevation at Lynx Creek for panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and creeks. Alternately, we ride the meadows and trails of Turnagain Pass where the locals ride trails linking powder fields and ancient glacial moraines.

Spencer Glacier Snowmobile Tour - 5 hours

Snowmobile to the face of Spencer, Skookum or Twentymile Glacier behind your experienced guide, who leads the way on this loop ride of the glacier valleys. Traverse snowy meadows, cross frozen rivers and pass towering mountains on your ride to this remote destination. Icebergs frozen in the lake form scenic obstacles leading to the blue serac blocks and columns of ice on the glacier's face. Take plenty of photos as we explore the glacier and enjoy a trailside hot drink and snack.

Offered by Alaska Backcountry Access
