Controller
Primary responsibility for monthly financial statement reporting, accounts receivable and accounts payable. Oversees the daily administration of the Accounting Department. Works with the Resort Directors to develop and maintain annual budget and internal control procedures. The position involves internal auditing, cost accounting, and budgetary controls. Examines, analyzes, and evaluates operations and facilities to ensure optimal financial status, standards, and policies.

RequirementsPosition responsibilities:

• Supervises and trains accounting staff, monitors, controls scheduling, and work flow; including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Daily Income Audit, General Cashier, and Assistant Controller.
• Performs and coordinates monthly closing of the general ledger, including reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
• Prepares and submits various tax forms and reports required by different levels of government.
• Prepares and submits schedules and reports required by persons, groups and agencies outside the company.
• Assists in preparation of company’s annual operating and capital budgets. Monitors actuals to budget daily.
• Assists with the annual internal audit of financial statements.
• Reviews and revises and recommends internal control policies and procedures.
• Performs other financial and control projects as necessary.
• Maintains the Resort's cash flow records; keeps books and records on all related transactions and assets.
• Establishes, or recommends to management, financial strategies, objectives, and policies for the Resort.
• Works with all departments in preparation of budgets. Reviews budget proposals and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
• Provides management with timely reviews of financial status. Researches variances and prepares internal analysis reports.
• Assists in training staff in accurate reporting, analysis, and accounting procedures

Essential skills and experience:
• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university degree in accounting, business administration or related field, with three to five years of related accounting experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of an advanced degree and work experience.
• Proficiency in the use of accounting software and MS Office Suite required.
• Advanced Excel skills required, including macros, pivot tables and vlook up functions.
• Experience with Point of Sale systems preferred.
• Hotel industry accounting experience preferred.
• CPA license preferred.
