Alyeska Resort offers a variety of options for all ages over Halloween weekend

September 20, 2010 (Girdwood, Alaska) – Amidst the colorful foliage and change in seasons, Alyeska Resort finds ample reason to celebrate All Hallow’s Eve. Based on tradition, this holiday celebrates the fruits of autumn and marks the end of summer. At Alyeska Resort, Halloween signifies the coming of the winter season and all the excitement and preparation that takes place to get the mountain ready for skiing.

This year, Halloween at Alyeska Resort includes an entire weekend of activities for all ages. The Girdwood School is presenting their annual Halloween Kids Carnival on Friday evening, October 29. The carnival is scheduled from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Alyeska Resort Daylodge. Admission is $3 per person or $10 for immediate family members. Kids’ activities and booths will be set-up including face painting, games, and fortune tellers. The proceeds earned at the carnival will benefit the Girdwood School’s computer program.

On Saturday evening, October 30, the resort is hosting a Halloween Concert featuring two popular Anchorage-based bands. The concert will be held in the Alyeska Resort Daylodge and doors will open at 9:00 PM.  The opening band is Dubious Character playing a mix of alternative, rock and acoustic music. SuperFreakQuency is the headliner band performing their high energy sounds perfect for dancing. Costumes are encouraged and there will be prizes awarded for best costumes of the night.

The Halloween Concert is scheduled from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM. The ticket price is $10 per person and guests must be 21 years of age or older. Advanced tickets are available by calling the Alyeska Ticket Office at 907-754-2275, or online at AlyeskaResort.com.
