December is filled with holiday joy and festivities at Alyeska Resort
December 11, 2012 (Girdwood, Alaska) – Alyeska Resort is hosting holiday activities and special events with locals and families in mind. From special dinners to the start of the night-skiing season, there is much to celebrate in the month of December.
The North Pole has sent word that Santa will arrive at Alyeska Resort on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 7:00 PM. Santa will be taking photos with the kids and enjoying holiday cookies, beverages and the holiday spirit. Parents can drop off presents at the front desk of The Hotel Alyeska. Please call 907-754-1111 to make arrangements.
The holiday night-skiing schedule starts December 21, 2012 to January 5, 2013, operating daily excluding December 24 and 31, 2012, when the resort will close at 5:30 P.M. Night-skiing includes the Tram, Ted’s Express and Bear Cub Quad from 4:00 to 9:00 PM. Night-skiing tickets are $40 on weekdays and $45 on weekends for adults. Student/Military/College/Senior tickets cost $35 on weekdays and $40 on weekends and the rate for children ages 6 – 12 is $20 on weekdays and $25 on weekends. The annual torchlight parade and fireworks show will illuminate the slopes of Alyeska this New Year’s Eve beginning at 8:00 PM. This event is free and open to the public. The best viewing is at the Daylodge.
