Alyeska Resort Will Not Increase Season Pass Prices for 2015/16 Ski Season; Powder Cache Bonus Deadline is July 31. - July 18, 2015
Alyeska Resort season passes are currently on sale for the 2015/16 ski season. There will be no raise in price for season passes, ten time powder passes or day use lift tickets for the upcoming season. Passholders who purchase on or before July 31 will receive bonus powder cache pre-loaded on their pass which can be spent at the resort like a debit card at any resort retail or food and beverage outlet. Season passes will remain at a discounted price until October 31 but will not include the Powder Cache bonus after July 31.

Alyeska Resort is following the month-long German tradition of celebrating Oktoberfest by hosting three consecutive weekends of food, music and beer from late September to early October. Each weekend’s festivities will highlight a unique style of music, food and draft beer from around the world. The festivals will take place at the Alyeska Daylodge from 4:00 P.M. to 12:00 A.M. on Friday and Saturday. The festivals are family friendly and open to all ages. Early season at Alyeska Resort, Alaska greeted with abundant snowfall - December 14, 2011
With 270 inches of snowfall since October, of which 182 inches has accumulated since the ski season started on November 23, Alyeska Resort is enjoying a strong start to the season. The early season conditions have been optimal and the last storm resulted in up to 40 new inches of snow in the upper mountain areas. The snow safety and ski patrol team has been able to open a large portion of the mountain including the infamous North Face run Christmas Chute, known for its steep and narrow entrance. Alyeska Resort is located 40 miles from Anchorage, home to Ted Stevens International Airport.

Alyeska Resort Opening Day: November 28, 2013 - November 23, 2013
Alyeska Resort’s ski season officially begins on Thursday, November 28, 2013 and chairlifts are scheduled to be running from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Once the snow pack and coverage has been evaluated by ski patrol, announcements will be made regarding specific terrain and chairlifts that will be available to the public. Full base area services will be open, including Mountain Learning Center ski and snowboard school, rental shop and slopeside dining at the Sitzmark Bar & Grill.

The Alyeska Resort Pipeline Super Pipe will host its first competition of the season on Saturday, March 10 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. The Alyeska Pipeline Masters competition is open to skiers and snowboarders ages 13 and older. Prizes will be provided by zAK’s Boardroom and Alyeska Mountain Shop. The winter of 2011/12 in the Chugach mountain range has been a tale of two stories: abundant snowfall top-to-bottom and high quality snow. Alyeska Resort offers one of the longest winter ski seasons in North America. The resort wrapped up two weeks of summer freeride camp, which ran for two sessions between June 7 and 18, 2010. The resort starts the sales of 2011/12 season passes on May 1. The Spring Sale, scheduled to run May 1 to 31, 2011, offers new and renewing season pass holders up to $150 in Powder Cache.Powder Cache is accepted at all Alyeska Resort outlets including, but not limited to, dining, spa services, lift tickets, lodging, ski school lessons, and retail. Depending on the type of season pass purchased, the Powder Cache bonus amount ranges between $50 and $150. The 37th annual Spring Carnival and Slush Cup weekend at Alyeska Resort will span Friday, April 11 to Sunday, April 13, 2014. Festivities will kick off Friday evening at the Sitzmark Bar & Grill with the Slush Cup Costume Party from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. where half of the 50 Taco Bell Slush Cup participant slots will be awarded based on quality of costume. Three judges will score costumes based originality, flare and style. Those with winning costumes will have the opportunity to prepay the $50 registration fee and rest in peace knowing that their Slush Cup spot is guaranteed. Alyeska Resort Aerial Tram to Reopen on Saturday, February 9, 2013 - February 8, 2013
The Alyeska Aerial Tram will reopen for skier and passenger traffic on Saturday, February 9. The Tram, which has been closed due to a wind-related accident on New Year’s Eve that damaged one of its cabins, will be operating with a specially designed car to serve as ballast on one side while the damaged cabin is repaired.
Local Skiers Reach Two Million Vertical Feet - March 3, 2015
Local skiers at Alyeska Resort have been logging millions of vertical feet this season despite a lower-than-average snowfall season. Thirteen local skiers have totaled over one million vertical feet each with one skier logging over two million vertical feet. Alyeska’s vertical tracker system, which is integrated into the RFiD gates located at each lift, automatically adds the vertical measurement of each lift and is stored in the resort’s database every time a skier completes a lap.

Event Director Tony Harrington announced the postponement of the planned expansion of his iconic backcountry heli-accessed competition today but has not ruled out continuing to explore options for a future event in Alaska.

Winter Package Deals in January and February - February 1, 2012
According to weather forecast sources in Anchorage, Alaska, December 2011 represented a “wet, windy and wild” month resulting in 29 days of precipitation and 183 inches of snow in the month alone. The early snowfall resulted in some of the earliest openings for outer areas at the resort including Christmas Chute, Max’s Mountain, High Traverse and Northwest Passage. Weather in January to date has continued the storm patterns with close to two fee of snowfall since New Years Day adding to the season total of 304 inches measured starting from November 1, 2011.
