Chair 6 Chairlift Installation
Alyeska Resort is excited to announce the replacement of the existing Chair 6 with the installation of a new high-speed detachable quad. Construction and installation of the chairlift by Doppelmayr USA Inc. is expected to occur from May 6 through October 31, 2013 at an estimated cost of $6 million.
Servicing high volumes of skiers and riders, the currently existing Chair 6 provides primary lift access to the upper mountain trails at Alyeska Resort and is considered by many to be the heart and soul of Alyeska Ski Resort. Popular skiing and snowboarding runs accessed by Chair 6 include Christmas Chute and the North Face, Silvertip, Trapline, Mighty Mite and High Traverse. The existing chairlift was originally installed in 1988.
Downhill Mountain Biking
The downhill mountain biking program at Alyeska Resort provides guests with a fast and fun activity to complement the winter ski season. The hub of the bike activity will be centered around the Daylodge and Sitzmark Bar & Grill on the day-use side of the resort. Spa & Yoga
The Spa at Alyeska is offering a special Rebalancing Package that combines a private yoga session with a lavender scented Thai Bolus body treatment. This session focuses on stretching and reviving your body while reducing tension and uplifting the senses. Also check out the weekly yoga sessions.
