August in Alaska means there’s still plenty of summer left to enjoy at Alyeska Resort. One of the best ways to get outside and spend time with your family is by picking blueberries, celebrating blueberries and being surrounded by like-minded blueberry enthusiasts in the Chugach Mountains! These delectable little morsels pack a flavorful punch and luckily for us, they grow plentiful on Alaska’s mountains. Stay the night at Alyeska and take advantage of the annual Blueberry-themed event with vendors, live music, a pie-eating contest, kids zone, and of course, berry picking!

Guess what, berry lovers? The Blueberry Creations Contest is back for 2024! Get your aprons on and your blenders whirring because we want your best, mouthwatering blueberry creations of all kinds-baked goods, beverages, jams, and more! It’s free to enter, so let your creativity shine and join the berrylicious fun! Submit creations at the Info Booth before 3:45pm on SATURDAY. Winner “Takes All” and will be announced at 4:15pm. This year’s prize is two (2) passes for the VEILBREAKER Skybridges and a food & beverage credit for the Bore Tide Deli. Questions? Please email arabg@alyeskaresort.com.

Alyeska Resort is partnering with Little Bears Playhouse at Blueberry Festival! Proceeds from sightseeing chairlift rides on Ted’s Express during the festival will help support our local non-profit early learning center. Chairlift rides will be available for $10 from noon – 6pm on Saturday & Sunday.

 
On Sunday 8/11, come support Little Bears Playhouse and RUN WILD for a thrilling jaunt up Alyeska! In-person registration opens at 9:00am. All routes start and finish at the Daylodge. Wild animal costumes are encouraged! Runners dressed in costumes will be entered in a raffle for special prizes. Parents are welcome to run with their children.

 
Our friends at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center will be making a special appearance. Join them in the Kids Zone for the Wildlife Adaption Station Matching Game: Come test your skills identifying tracks, skulls, and furs with AWCC! Participants will learn how Alaskan animals have uniquely adapted to live in their environment through the exploration and identification of replica tracks, skulls, and furs. AWCC will be setup on Saturday from 11:00am-1:00pm and Sunday from 12:00pm-8:00pm inside the Daylodge.

Parking is limited, so please consider carpooling to the festival. Please leave your dog at home.
