Alyeska Resort manages a 20,000 square foot employee housing complex that was opened in 2008.This provides employees with affordable, clean and well-maintained housing close to work and can house up to 120 people. The units are fully furnished and include a complete kitchen with stove, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher. Shared two-bedroom units and four-bedroom apartments are available. Employee housing is offered on a first come first serve basis. Please note that an offer for employment must be made before a housing application will be accepted.
Housing in Girdwood can be quite seasonal with more openings in the spring and fall than mid-season. Please check out Craigslist and utilize bulletin boards in the community for listings.
Glacier Valley Transit (GVT) is Girdwood's public transportation system. GVT operates year-round with designated bus stops. Visit their website for current bus schedule and stop locations. On the site, you will also find information on Dial-A-Ride-Services for the disabled needing additional assistance.
