Spring Carnival Incident
April 30, 2026:
Alyeska Resort can confirm that an incident occurred during our annual Slush Cup event involving a participant who required medical attention. Our ski patrol and on-site medical teams responded immediately, and the individual was transported to a local medical facility for further care. Our thoughts are with the participant and their loved ones during this time.
This individual is a valued member of the Alyeska and Girdwood community, with deep ties to the mountain and the people who call it home. Like many here, their connection to Alyeska reflects the strong sense of community that defines this place, and this incident is felt deeply by those who know them.
Slush Cup, which celebrated its 49th year, is a longstanding Alyeska tradition that brings together our community and guests for a memorable spring celebration. This year’s event was extensively planned and coordinated across many teams, and we are grateful to everyone who contributed to its execution.
The safety of our guests and participants remains our highest priority. Events like Slush Cup are carefully planned with comprehensive safety measures in place, including trained personnel and on-site emergency response teams. We are reviewing this incident as part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
Out of respect for the individual and their family, we will not be sharing additional personal details at this time.
We appreciate the support of our community and partners and look forward to welcoming guests back for future events at Alyeska Resort.
