Frequently asked Questions
What does the booking process look like?
Your wedding journey with Alyeska begins with a review of our Wedding Information Packet and FAQ. Once you’ve identified your preferred date(s), our Events Team will confirm availability and guide you through next steps. Please note that we begin accepting wedding bookings up to one year in advance. If your preferred date falls beyond that window, we encourage you to reconnect with us as you approach the one-year mark.
When can we come in for a site visit?
One of the perks of booking your wedding with us is a personalized planning experience, including a guided venue tour, a dedicated meeting with your Event Manager to walk through all the details, and a complimentary tasting for plated menus.
At this time, guided tours and in-person planning meetings are reserved for confirmed bookings. However, we welcome you to visit the resort at your convenience to explore the property and get a feel for the space. Once your date is secured, we’ll be excited to schedule your private tour and tasting and begin bringing your vision to life.
Can we book a ceremony without a reception?
At this time, we do not offer ceremony-only or elopement bookings. All ceremonies must be paired with a full-service reception.
Can I take wedding photos at Alyeska if I’m not hosting my wedding there?
Yes! We offer photo-only permits for couples not hosting their ceremony or reception at Alyeska Resort. Permits are available within 30 days of your desired shoot date; please reach out again within that window to inquire. Please be aware that without a reservation, Alyeska Resort reserves the right to stop photography or any unauthorized ceremonies
Does Alyeska provide a Wedding Planner?
While our Event Managers are here to support you and coordinate venue-related details, they do not serve as full-service wedding planners. If you choose not to hire a full-service planner, a professional 30-day (or month-of) coordinator is required. If you’re looking for recommendations, we’re happy to share a list of trusted planners we’ve worked with.
What outside vendors should we expect to hire?
You may choose to hire outside vendors for services such as DJs or live bands, photography and videography, photo booths, florals, and décor rentals. While Alyeska does not provide these services in-house, we maintain a list of preferred vendors we’ve had the pleasure of working with in the past.
What’s included in the reception space?
Your reception at Alyeska Resort includes thoughtfully selected essentials to bring your celebration together, including your tables, chairs, choice of black or ivory linens, and centerpieces. Dinnerware is also provided, including plates, flatware, glassware, and napkins, along with a dedicated dessert table.
We also offer a variety of audio-visual enhancements, such as sound packages, projector setups, and a hardwood dance floor. Please note that all audio-visual services are available for an additional fee.
How long is my venue rental?
Your reception venue rental includes three hours for setup and six hours for your event. If the space is not booked by another group within fourteen days of your wedding date, we’re happy to offer complimentary early access when available. If you anticipate needing additional time for an extended setup, your Event Manager will be glad to walk you through options to secure extra access in advance.

In accordance with Alaska State Liquor Laws, bars may be open for up to six hours, must be staffed by Alyeska team members, and outside alcohol is not permitted.
What are the differences between a hosted bar, cash bar, and semi-hosted bar?
Hosted Bar: The host covers all beverages consumed. On average, this costs about $45 per guest, though pricing may vary based on your guest list and preferences.
Cash Bar: Guests purchase their own beverages directly from the bar.
Semi-Hosted Bar: A flexible option averaging about $30 per guest, with variations based on selections and guest preferences. Options include:
- Host covers beer, wine, and/or specialty cocktails; guests pay for liquor
- Host provides drink tickets; additional drinks are paid by guests
- Host covers beverages during cocktail hour only; guests pay afterward
- Host provides a set number of wine bottles for tables; additional drinks are purchased individually
What happens if I book an outdoor ceremony and there is inclement weather?
Located in the heart of the Chugach National Forest (the northernmost temperate rainforest), weather at Alyeska Resort can be unpredictable. A weather call must be made four (4) hours prior to your ceremony. If you choose to move the ceremony indoors, it will be held in your reception space with the existing setup. Alternatively, you may secure a secondary indoor venue for an additional rental fee.
Does Alyeska offer discounts on guest rooms?
Once your wedding date is confirmed, Alyeska may be able to provide a group discount for guest rooms. Please connect with your Event Manager for a custom booking link and discount code, which can easily be integrated into your online RSVP so guests can book accommodations directly. Please note that we do not currently offer traditional wedding room blocks.
Is a Bridal Suite included with my contracted wedding?
A bridal suite is not included with your contracted wedding at Alyeska Resort; however, our Events Team can recommend alternate spaces that may suit your needs (based on availability). Please feel free to ask your Event Manager for suggestions.
