Getting To Alyeska Resort
Alyeska Resort is located just 40 miles south of Anchorage, Alaska in the town of Girdwood. Convenient access is available at the modern Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.
From the airport, take the scenic Seward Highway heading south. The Seward Highway was voted America’s Most Outstanding Scenic Byway by Scenic America, a national conservation organization, in 1995 and by the US Department of Transportation in 2000.
The Seward Highway follows along the Turnagain Arm with many interpretative rest stops and view points. Depending on the season, it is not unusual to spot beluga whales or Dall sheep from your car window. Take the highway and look for signs to Girdwood, the home of Alyeska Resort. You will take a left-hand turn onto Alyeska Highway and continue down the road for three miles. When you come to a “T” intersection – turn left and go one mile for Alyeska Resort. To get to Alyeska Resort’s Daylodge and base area, turn right at the “T”.
Alyeska Resort offers valet parking for hotel guests at $27 for overnight parking and $15 for Dinner or Nordic Spa parking.

Once you have landed, whether by plane or boat, getting to Alyeska Resort is easy. Choose from car and RV rentals to chauffeured transportation. Glacier Valley Transit provides free public transportation in and around the Resort and the town of Girdwood.
Our Concierge Desk can arrange for your preferred ground transportation to/from anywhere in the state.
Transport Options from Airport
There are several transportation options from the Anchorage airport to the Alyeska resort in Girdwood:
- The resort can make arrangements for taxi and/or car service. Contact the concierge to make arrangements 24 hours in advance at guestservices@alyeskaresort.com.
- Car rental
- Take a train to Girdwood, then the local Girdwood transit. It is a 15-20 minute taxi/uber ride in Anchorage from the airport to the train depot in Anchorage. In the summer the train runs twice a day from Anchorage to Girdwood and twice a day from Girdwood back to Anchorage. https://www.alaskarailroad.com/ride-a-train/schedules.

Driving Directions
From Anchorage Airport:
- Exit the airport via International Airport Road
- Turn right (south) on to Minnesota
- Follow Minnesota (south and then east, following the curve in the road) until you reach the New Seward Highway
- Turn right (south) on to the New Seward Highway and proceed south along the Turnagain Arm for approximately 31 miles Follow signs to Girdwood
- Turn left at Girdwood onto the Alyeska Highway at mile 90 along the Seward Highway (Tesoro Gas Station on the left)
- Follow this road approximately three miles until you reach the large Alyeska Resort welcome sign
- Turn left onto Arlberg Road and follow for one mile to Alyeska Resort

All rental car companies listed above are located in the new Rental Car Center across from the South Terminal. Free Airport shuttle buses travel between the South Terminal, North Terminal, and the Rental Car Center every 15 minutes daily (24-hours a day).
Taxis, Shuttles & More
Upgrade your transportation to a limousine, stretch hummer or an executive sedan. Advanced reservations are available 24 hours a day seven days a week. All airport transfers include either a 4×6 or 5×8 luggage trailer for excess luggage, one bottle of water for each passenger and a local newspaper available upon request. Sedan service starting at $450.
For larger groups, the Magic Bus offers mid-size and full size motor coaches. Prices will vary with group size and pick up times.

Summer Season
Alyeska Resort works with a variety of coach bus companies to provide express service to Seward and Homer.
Park Connection Motorcoach
The Park Connection provides daily summer service connecting Seward, Girdwood, Anchorage, Talkeetna, and Denali Park. Transportation provided by deluxe motorcoaches with reclining seats, in-seat power outlets, and an onboard restroom. The Park Connection offers:
- The only same-day scheduled transportation option between Seward/Whittier/Girdwood and Denali Park.
- Low rates and efficient travel times.
- Onboard narration by driver-guides to keep things interesting.

RV Parking
RV day and overnight parking at Alyeska Resort is available in the summer season in the Daylodge Parking Lot.
$20 per space, per night. Use of space between 6 pm and 9 am requires payment of fees. Please select space and place payment (check or cash only) in corresponding number in honor box.
- Stays are limited to seven (7) consecutive nights
- Generators permitted to operate between 8 am and 10 pm
- Excessive noise is not permitted
- No open campfires
- Waste disposal and water is available at the Tesoro Station on the main highway
- Restaurant, shops and other guest services are located at Alyeska Resort.
- Check-out time is 12 pm/noon
- Please leave a clean camp space
- RV parking is not available during the first weekend in July due to the Girdwood Forest Fair
